Training

One to One Training

Having trained, competed and worked many different spaniels we can help you and your dog become a true partnership. Using kind and positive reward based training we can help get the best out of you, the handler and your spaniel.

We have access to excellent spaniel ground and depending on the time of year have access to cover crops, bramble, bracken, and grasses with plenty of game scent.  We mostly offer one to one training which is ideal for the young spaniels and novice handlers needing help with installing and proofing the basics of obedience, hunting and retrieving.

Occasionally we will put on group lessons for pre assessed spaniels of similar ability to proof the training in working/test/trial scenarios.

Residential Training

We have limited availability for residential training for spaniels in our secure kennels located in a rural area of South Yorkshire.

You are required to attend a residential assessment prior to booking in. Residentials are booked in 1 week slots.

We can cater for the following:

  • Training your spaniel whilst you are on holiday or working away
  • Young pup -  installing the basics like attention to name, sit, recall & hunting
  • Adolescent dogs that are becoming a handful and need consistency and gentle handling

You will receive weekly updates and videos, followed by a handover period with one to one training session/s to ensure consistency.

"The Reluctant Retriever"

“Gunner went for residential training with Adrian throughout the 2021-22 season. Gunner was reluctant to pick anything up as a young pup and I didn't have the time to put into him since I had a full time job picking up on a large shooting estate.

He did a brilliant job and not only managed to get Gunner picking up game but completed the handover on the estate I pick up on. Gunner sat steady during the drives, lined out for retrieves when sent and retrieved to hand. What more could I ask for?”
